What are the requirements for being a fitness instructor?

I would like to be a fitness teacher. One that teaches classes at a fitness center, %26amp; not a personal trainer. But I wasnt sure if certifications were mandatiory.|||In most cases your local community college will be able to answer that question. The reason for this is that every state has it's own guidelines to be certified.|||At every gym I've ever been to the trainers were clueless morons. Doubt very much is required|||unfortunately it is not regulated by govenment. there are certification programs through places like the ymca and Can fit pro (check on-line for one in your area). most respectable gyms will only allow certified instructors but not all. for liability reasons... do your homework and get a good grade to have a long career with it. good teachers r hard to find.
