What would be a suitable fitness Ticklist for joining the Royal Marines?

So yeah im going to be signing the Application in a couple of months time, but before that i would like to get my fitness up a little and to a certain standard, The only problem is... what standard would that be, i know the training and fitness is going to be tough, really tough. But what would be a suitable ticklist before signing the sheets

like

1. 6 miles running

2. 20 pull ups

Etc etc

Thanks!|||ok please bear in mind it is 28 years ago and our minds dim with age.

firstly you visit the local Royal Navy Careers office. They tell you that before they will register an application they have to see a demonstration of upper body strength (in those days pull ups). the guy said to me would i like to go away and practice (i always did look skinny!). Wow I thought, how many do they expect! so i asked him how many i had to do, he said " i will need to see at least 3" (three!) I laughed at him and said would ten do or should i do 20.

assume application goes through you will then do a 3 day test (lympstone).

main physical requirements;

1.5 miles in under 7mins30

at least 20 press ups

60 sit ups

as many pull ups as poss

shuttle runs.

If you don't get these it is not the end, what counts is effort- they can get you fit if they believe in you.

bootnecks may not be perfect but they never give up.

good luck nice career choice|||Fitness is a very important part for joining the Royal Marines, but you must also keep your brain and mind fit. Learn how not to respond aggressively in unexpected or unforeseen circumstances.

You will need to be active in both body and mind.

Good luck.|||There's plenty of advice on their website. http://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/royalmarines鈥?/a>
